Oxygen System - General Information

Trials

FishPac™ requests all potential shippers/operators to conduct tests of fish/fingerlings to be shipped prior to entering into lease agreements.  This applies in particular to species that have not previously been shipped by the FishPac™ system.  Conditions apply.

Water Quality for Shipments

it is very important that the Ph, ammonia and carbon dioxide levels of the water are within acceptable levels.  The water temperature for shipments is determined by the species’ natural environment.  FishPac can assist in evaluating and advising on water quality.  Conditions apply.

Logistics

When the bin/tote is airfreighted to its destination, it obviously must be returned to the shipper.  Depending on the shipper’s location and the location of his customer, bins/totes can be returned by air, sea, road or rail.  FishPac™ can advise the best and most economical method.  It is usual that the regulators would be returned by express air freight to the shipper’s facility.  For example, immediately the receiving customer unloads a bin/tote, the bin/tote could be returned by sea freight and the regulator by air freight. This enables the shippers to operate 4 bins/totes to every 1 regulator, eg if a shipper has 24 bins then only 6 regulators are required.

Cost

The cost depends on the number of bins/totes and regulators required, shipper’s location and training arrangements.  Regulators are leased at a monthly rate for an agreed period.  A refundable security deposit is required.  Firm costs will be provided once volumes are confirmed with FishPac™.  Bins/totes can be purchased or leased.  Conditions apply.

Holding Tanks and Water Systems

FishPac™ can assist in the design of holding tanks and water systems for the fish to be held in prior to shipment, as well as the water system for preparing pack out water, ie the water used in the FishPac™ bin/tote.  The quality of the pack out water is critical.  Conditions apply.

Road Transport

The FishPac™ oxygen system can be used successfully for road transport of live fish/fingerlings.  FishPac™ can advise on the preparation and transport vehicle set up.  Conditions apply.

Marketing

As FishPac™ is an international operation, we can assist with advice on marketing live fish. FishPac™ has clients in Australia, Asia and North America.  FishPac™ will expand into Europe in late 2009.  Conditions apply.
